About our Client Our client is an international team of technology and travel industry experts committed to transforming the travel and transportation sector. Through the application of advanced and intuitive technologies, the company empowers global travel and transportation leaders to achieve greater commercial success and operational excellence. Project Overview The project focuses on developing integrations between the client’s core platform and multiple external vendors — including airline data providers, payment processors, and other partners. The work involves building and maintaining robust microservices that handle data exchange, payment execution, and real-time processing within a Scrum-based development framework. • Team size: ~8 engineers (client-side technical lead) • Methodology: Scrum • Scope: Building integrations, ensuring stability, scalability, and 24/7 system reliability Tech Stack • Languages: Go (primary), Python (for some integrations) • Architecture: Microservices with independent databases and caching layers • Cloud Platform: Google Cloud (Dataflow, Spanner, Pub/Sub) • Infrastructure: Terraform Requirements • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Strong expertise in Go (Golang) — with solid understanding of idiomatic Go, best practices, and performance optimization • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) • Proven experience in microservices architecture, including API design and service orchestration • Excellent English communication skills (minimum B2) — able to gather requirements directly from third-party vendors and participate in daily standups • Ability to handle 24/7 support rotation, addressing high-priority production incidents as needed • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and distributed systems concepts Responsibilities • Technical Analysis: Investigate complex issues, propose scalable solutions, and collaborate with the client’s technical lead on architecture decisions • Architecture & Design: Contribute to system architecture and microservice design following Go best practices and cloud-native principles • Integration Development: Build secure, high-performance integrations with external vendors and APIs • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process or performance optimization; stay up to date with emerging Go and GCP technologies • Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members • 24/7 Support: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing critical support for production systems Work Schedule & Support Policy 🕐 Standard Working Hours: • Weekdays, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Romania time): Standard workday (8 business hours within this window). 🌙 Standby Periods: • 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM: On-call standby. Only Critical/Blocker issues require intervention. o Compensation: 1 hour = 1.5x rate if called in. • 12:00 AM – 7:00 AM: Continuation of standby period under same conditions. 📅 Weekend Coverage: • Saturday & Sunday: 24-hour standby. o Flat standby fee: $150 per day. o If an incident occurs: 1 hour = 1.5x rate.
