Can I choose the hardware? What is your coding setup (IDE, OS, Build server, Cloud provider)?
You are free to use your own hardware if it's convenient for you. If not, we will send you pre-configured equipment. In any case, you will be fully supported by our Network and Helpdesk Engineers.
We are a pretty big team to choose a single variant of coding setup. Depending on your professional direction, you can select an operating system, IDE, and all the needed stuff. We will provide you with all the necessary tools and programs to make your daily work easy and effective.

Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?
Using different technologies, we make each of our solutions unique. So writing your own stuff or using existing frameworks depends on the task, language, and domain specificity.
In the JVM ecosystem, it is wise to use Spring, Micronaut or Quarkus since they are bulletproof solutions for many occasions. Contrary to that, Go follows UNIX philosophy, where every program aims to solve a very narrow problem but with high efficiency; and usually, you don't follow any framework in Go.

What is your remote work policy?
We are a global company, so you have the flexibility to change countries, cities, and locations for fully remote work.
If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?
Again, as with everything in IT – it depends. Usually, 70/30 or 80/20 is a good coding/meetings ratio for our specialists.
We practice the Agile approach; hence most of our projects have four Scrum ceremonies:

Can I work on my projects or open source for a part of time?

Our recruiters will get in touch to discuss the prospects of our cooperation. This stage involves a call with a Recruiter to present Avenga and company values, explain the project details, deeper understand your experience and required skills and/or both parties' expectations.
🔷 Demonstrate
We will have to put you through the interview process to prove you are the one we’ve been looking for. Depending on the vacancy and project type, this stage may include the following:
🔹 English check (optional step). The recruitment team, together with the English Academy Specialists, assesses your level of spoken English. This step is mandatory only for candidates for Delivery and Sales-related positions.
🔹 Technical interview aims to objectively evaluate your professional knowledge, skill set, and professional suitability for an open position at Avenga. TI usually involves two Tech experts representing specific technology units.
🔹 PM interview (optional step) aims to assess your suitability for the project and provide you with additional details about the project.
🔹 Customer interview is an interviewing process between you and our customer's representatives. The CI may evaluate both hard and soft skills. The Avenga team helps you prepare for a possible interview with the customer.
